Why do I write? I was (and still am) active on Discord. Sometimes I write effort posts, and while they seem to be appreciated, I am still dissatisfied. They get limited views and are ephemeral, forgotten when the conversation moves on. They’re also hard to access later.
Another thing that annoys me about conversing on Discord is the way discussions never seem to amount to anything. They are too… ephemeral. The same arguments occur over and over again, and there’s no sense that knowledge is being accumulated or that we’re working toward anything greater.
This site is an effort to combat that. It is not a blog—that is, it is not a public diary. I aim for my work to be Long Content. Timelines being what they are, we may not exist in a few years, but if we get lucky, I want to write things that will still be relevant and useful years from now.
